English course scholarships available for school students in Peru

17:41.

Lima, May. 14. Third and fourth year high school students across Peru will have the chance to apply for 6,500 English language scholarships offered by Peru's Ministry of Education (Minedu) through the National Program for Scholarships and Educational Loans (Pronabec).

The aim of the 24-month grant is to enable students to reach a confident B2 level in all four learning components —listening, speaking, reading and writing— according to international standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The English for School Students scholarship is aimed at public school students with outstanding academic records and from the 24 departments in Peru.

Eligible English language institutions have been approved to participate in the program.

Requirements

This scholarship applies only to students who have completed courses with a grade of 13 or above within the first years of school. Applicants must be in third of fourth year and be enrolled in a public high school —chosen by Minedu— for the 2016 school year. StudentS should not be older than 18 years old.

Applications shall be submitted online together with clear scanned copies of all the required documents to the Scholarship System (Sibec) at www.pronabec.gob.pe.

Classes will be held at ICPNA and Britanico language schools starting in August this year.
