CHERRY HILL - A Township resident will be Bali-bound after winning an international volunteer scholarship.
Special education teacher Taylor Franks beat out 1,600 other applicants from around the world to be awarded the 2016 International Volunteers HQ (IVHQ) Teach & Volunteer Abroad Scholarship.

"I am incredibly thrilled and grateful for this opportunity to volunteer again with IVHQ," Franks said in a news release.
In 2015, the 24-year old volunteered in Madagascar on IVHQ's Forest Conservation project. She says the experience fueled her desire to do more.
With the scholarship, Franks will have the opportunity to gain a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification before traveling abroad to support a Teaching English project in Bali.
