2017 Ernie Jones Scholarship Recipient Announced

University of Evansville student Elyse Massey earns scholarship March 1, 2017

FORTH WORTH, Texas — The Tower Family Foundation and the National Association of Tower Erectors have announced that Elyse Massey has earned the 2017 Ernie Jones Memorial Civil Engineering Scholarship. Massey is a junior civil engineering major at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind.

In addition to her studies, Massey serves as the secretary of the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is the captain and lead designer for this year's Aces Steel Bridge team at her school.

The scholarship is named after Ernie Jones, who worked as a structural engineer for 30 years before passing away in 2015 after a fall while inspecting a tower.

The Ernie Jones Scholarship provides a $2,500 scholarship annually to a junior or senior level civil engineering student at the University of Evansville's College of Engineering and Computer Science.

NATE awarded Massey the scholarship during the NATE Awards Luncheon at NATE UNITE 2017.
