Kittery art scholarships announced

  • KITTERY POINT, Maine —The Kittery Art Association awarded four $1,000 scholarships to four students who graduated from R.W. Traip Academy last month.

    Piper Smith, who is attending Maine College of Art; Cora Hickoff who is attending Carnegie Mellon University School of Art; Hannah Stevens who is attending Smith College; and Lillian Bean, who is attending the Rochester Institute of Technology.

    Since 2008, the Marcia Abigail Ryder Art Scholarship Fund has granted over $24,000 to assist Kittery students in pursuing their creative endeavors. The Ryder Scholarship Fund ensures that Kittery students will continue to have opportunities to explore their creativity. The program is funded by the art association and generous private donors.
