The Champion Firm, P.C. recently announced the winner of the first Georgia Future Champions Scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship was offered to one Georgia high school student pursuing higher education at a two-year or four-year university in 2016.
The scholarship celebrates the hours of practice, patience and persistence it takes to become a Champion. Applicants were asked to create a short video and essay describing how they plan to become a champion and how the scholarship will help them reach their goals.
Marietta High School student Jelani Miller has been selected as the winner of the $2,500 scholarship. Jelani expressed a sincere and enthusiastic interest in furthering his education and applying the lessons learned from his journey as a high school varsity wrestler to help him become a future champion.
"With the help of the The Champion Firm, P.C., Georgia Future Champions Scholarship, I will be able to pursue my education with further additional assistance in tuition," Jelani said. "In addition, it would put me in a far greater position to take all I've learned from wrestling in my journey to become a state champion and apply it to becoming a champion business owner.
Jelani will be pursuing a business degree from Kennesaw State University's Coles College of Business. His scholarship essay application and video can be found at thechampionfirm.com/scholarship/winner-2016.
"We have been given assistance to achieve our education and career dreams, and we want to pay it forward by helping a student achieve their own dreams," said Darl Champion of the Champion Firm, P.C. "We are thrilled to award this $2,500 scholarship to such a deserving student, and we hope that it will help Jelani pursue his goal of becoming a business owner."
