DENVER, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver School of Nursing (DSN) has announced it is offering a $4,000 tuition scholarship to qualified nursing graduates of the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). The scholarship is available to CCCS graduates accepted into DSN's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN program option) distance education degree program.
"We are excited to extend this scholarship for the first time to nursing graduates from the Colorado Community College System. DSN is proud to offer this opportunity to RNs in our state and local communities," said Vicki Bobo, MA, online operations administrator for DSN (www.denverschoolofnursing.edu).
Late last year, DSN and CCCS executed an articulation agreement that enables graduates of the 13 CCCS institutions with an Associate of Nursing Degree (ADN) to be eligible for admission to DSN's fully on-line RN to BSN program.
"The scholarship will encourage nursing graduates from diverse backgrounds who are geographically dispersed throughout Colorado to enhance their nursing education and increase their career opportunities," Bobo said.
DSN's distance education program is designed so students can work while completing the degreed program. With two courses per term and breaks between terms, students with family or work responsibilities can balance the rigors of their continuing education.
"We are grateful to the Denver School of Nursing for extending this $4,000 scholarship to our nursing graduates to help expand their career opportunities. It will provide assistance as they pursue a BSN online so they don't have to quit their jobs or leave their communities," remarked CCCS President Dr. Nancy McCallin.
