Monee Crosswhite and Joshua Japhet were nominated for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) scholarship and received free tickets to the Colorado Rockies game on June 6. Only weeks after being nominated, Crosswhite was informed out of all the female nominations in Colorado that she was selected as the female scholarship winner.
Monee was accompanied to the Rockies game by her counselor/track coach Addie Wallace. There they were given a free tour and got to go out near the field and receive the scholarship. Jenn Roberts-Uhlig, CHSAA representative, presented Monee with a $1,000 check from the Colorado High School Activities Association. This is a statewide recognition. The male winner was 4A student Triston Berringer from Erie, Colorado.
