Scholarship to be given

Now in its 30th year, the Zoerb Family Scholarship is presented annually by the Zoerb family in memory of Dr. Zoerb, who was a local veterinarian serving the area in the 1950s and '60s.A $2,500 one-time cash award goes to a graduating senior from either New Holstein or Kiel high schools who will pursue their college education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

To qualify, applicants must be accepted at UW-Madison and complete an online scholarship application (the online link to find the application is available from the respective high school guidance offices), including writing a short essay, and providing one teacher/coach recommendation.The applicants are evaluated based equally on their academic performance, financial need, and community service record. Completed applications are due April 6. Personal interviews for qualifying applicants will be scheduled through the school guidance departments for later in April.
