Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Oklahoma City awarded Kelsey Couch a $2,000 scholarship and Christian Williams with a $1,000 scholarship during a reception on June 27 at the McAuley Conference Center at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. The Charity awarded a total of $92,000 in college scholarships to 56 graduating high school seniors from 19 cities across Oklahoma and north Texas.
Couch and Williams, both of Norman, earned scholarships from the organization's RMHC® Scholars program, one of four scholarship programs offered to applicants. High school seniors apply for the scholarships online and recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, financial need and a personal essay. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City has awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships since 2003.
"Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City is honored to support the future of these students through our scholarship program," said Susan Adams, president and chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City. "For many of our applicants, a college education seemed like a dream that was just out of reach. Our scholarship program helps these promising young leaders turn their dream into reality."
